From
coastal Georgia & Florida to Colorado & California, my early days
were filled with a collaborative influence of some of our country's
finest signmakers. This was back in the seventies & early
eighties, when common "tools of the trade" were pounce patterns,
Quills (lettering brushes) & overhead projectors. I worked my way
through the ranks by digging postholes in the Georgia clay to
painting billboards in Florida to eventually daring to attempt wood
carved & sandblasted signs & oh yes, buying my first signmaking
computer. Once I got through the initial learning curve I got rather
spoiled with the efficiency of this new technology. But, if the
lights go out, I still know where my brushes are.
After years of free-lancing, I married Sandy & we opened a full
service sign shop with a real customer base. We had great employees
that are still good friends today, but, our shop was in what I use
to refer to as "An eighth of an acre of house on a quarter of an
acre of land"
Well, both having had horses in younger days, we yearned for a small
farm. In '97 an opportunity presented itself & we bought an 1812
farmhouse sitting on 12 acres with a pond, pastures & woods.

We've
acquired various horses looking for just the right one. Finally,
we've found a solid breed that we're growing to love. There's a Pasa
Fino & a Morgan that are both dependable & earn their keep, but,
we've become well connected with the "Cheval Canadian"

Our livelihood has certainly evolved! After setting up at some small
fairs here in Maine & finding out this could work for us, we now,
(by leaving someone to watch the farm) serve customers throughout
the eastern U.S. with our automated "Mobile Sign Shop" that we take
to large fairs, equestrian events & trade shows. We make magnetic
truck signs, house & farm signs, contractor's job site signs,
banners, etc. while you wait. We also service customers remotely via
this website & ship anywhere.

Sandy started off as an extra set of eyes & just being my star
promoter. Relentlessly striving for the sensibly creative dynamics
of a great looking sign...she watched. Yes, she watched & she
listened & she taught me to look at things from a different
perspective.
Together, as we continue to fine tune this thing we do, I'm proud to
know that Sandy's willingness to blend & be an extension of my
creativity has helped her become a respectable designer in her own
right.
